AQA LangLit A'level intro to Paris Anthology
AQA Introduction to A’level study of combined English Language and English Literature. This thirty lesson, six-week scheme of learning with 30 powerpoints and resources is designed to help students in a fun way to make a smooth transition between GCSE and A’level. It both builds onto and revises GCSE English literature and language skills, introducing linguistic and literary frames of analysis necessary for the study of the AQA Paris Anthology. Each week introduces a new frame and short exercises using quality extracts which build to the study of a variety of the Paris anthology texts with both the spoken and written modes. Year 9 Non-fiction week 5 lessons - articles
This part of the scheme requires students to bring in a few empty bottles of hair or beauty products. This could also be done as part of their independent study. They need a list of ingredients from products they regularly use themselves ideally, or the teacher can just bring in some empty boxes/bottles for the students to investigate. Again, links in with the PSHE body image unit and helps students to write basic articles ready for GCSE.
Year 9 non fiction scheme week 4 writing to inform
Series of lessons designed to link in with PSHE body image whilst also a) helping students with independent learning and research techniques, b) guiding them through the basics of information writing and c) making them aware of the problems of using the internet for research, so links in well to ICT across the curriculum.
Year 9 non-fiction scheme week 3 lessons
Again, linked with PSHE on body image, this week focuses on 'writing to argue&'. The &';debatabase' website is extremely useful for students to pick a topic to explore and it gives both the argument and the counter-argument to really push the G&T students.

Year 9 Nonfiction scheme week one lessons
Weekly lessons including a market place activity for students to learn reading and writing skills for non-fiction texts. Links in with PSHE covering body image. Works really well with top set year 9 students or even year 10 students who need to learn non-fiction analysis ready for their language exam.

Year 9 introduction to the novel for GCSE
This is a proposed programme of study designed for the last half term in the year to prepare students for GCSE study of the novel. It includes an independent study for homework, a writing assessment, reading assessment, speaking and listening task and a bridging project for over the summer holiday.
Extended writing - Writing to describe
